Uninstall/Remove BitMefender Fake Antivirus Completely (Manual Removal Guide)

I have a program named BitMefender on my computer. It always pops up on my screen to scan my computer system. I don’t want to keep it, but I cannot remove it. What can I do? What is BitMefender?


BitMefender is a rogue antivirus program that can install on all the Windows as well as Mac OS along with spam email attachment, free software, or malicious links. Guide 1: Manual Removal

Manual removal is a better choice to make your computer safe. Before performing the process, we suggest you back up Windows registry at first for unpredictable damages or further usage. 

Step 1: Boot up the infected computer, press F8 at the very beginning, choose “Safe Mode with Networking” and press Enter to get in safe mode with networking.


Step 2: Press Ctrl+Alt+Del keys together and stop BitMefender processes in the Windows Task Manager.


Step 3: Open Control Panel from Start menu and search for Folder Options. When Folder Options window opens, click on its View tab, tick Show hidden files and folders and non-tick Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) and then press OK.



Step 4: Go to Control Panel, find “Add / Remove Program” icon in the control panel, and then double click it.   When the windows pop up, find BitMefender icon in the list, and then select it to start uninstalling it from your computer by clicking “Remove”.


Step 5: Open the Registry Editor, search for and delete these Registry Entries created by BitMefender .
